From Arawn: [Re: Actions] Sorry for the delay in posting. Unfortunately I've been short on time lately. I had worked on a reply to Update #9 but forgot to send it so some of the information below might be moot now:) But sending it anyways instead of editing it. Scott, no need to post things that might be too late/not worth posting now or else feel free to work them into the current time frame. Also, welcome aboard, Bess:) ***************** RE: Game Update #9 ***************** "As dashing as the sailor thought you were, I'll do my... OOC: A bit late to mention it but I'd guess that Arawn, as a trained survivalist, would know enough to stand downwind from animals when possible to avoid being detected by scent and such. But all good:) Also, Arawn would like to have attempted Elvish/Empathic Communication with the animals (or use whatever odd aura seems to be around him regarding animals being relatively peaceful in regards to him) to calm them down, let them know he's there to help avoid further problems, and maybe figure out what's going on. As the panther/shaman has moved away maybe best to assume this done with the Zehani wolf, which makes me wonder if Arawn might recognize it as the one spotted during Kiet's funeral. [Time: 10:30 am] Watching the wolf and panther circle and pace,... [OOC: If you feel like posting/running Arawn's attempt to use Elvish Empathic Communication... IC: Arawn extended his spiritual and psychic senses, seeking to connect with the animals in hopes of calming them, learning their names and why their on deck, and discovering any hidden danger they may be aware of.] As it became clear that some of the men laying about the deck were still alive the alfar made his way to them, using his medical training to stabilize them. OOC: Arawn is invisible so not sure how the man sees him. But we can go with things as written so as to make things easy, the conversation taking place while Arawn tends to the wounded (maybe Arawn 'bumped' into Raddok). IC: His medical kit by his side Arawn sought to stabilize... "What happened here?," he asked, speaking in Salaqi... OOC: Based on the conclusion that the guards were guilty of being slavers while the sailors were innocent, if it seems like the sailors are going to die before he (and anyone helping him) can stabilize them all of those still alive then he'll gather them together and cast Healing Mist at EL 0 on them. ****************** RE: Game Update #10 ****************** Arawn was able to make out the dwarf's comments bu.... [OOC: Will cast Communicate at max EL. If this seems to fail then he'll reply in Faerry Sidh or, if the dwarf seems unable to understand that, the Tongue of Dvalinn. OOC: Probably a bit late now but in case Unali forgot while trying to break the door Arawn gave her Enhanced Moonwort a while back. OOC: So is Arawn invisible or not, lol? OOC: I assume the part you repeat to Arawn is, "Something is very wrong here, isn't it?" IC: Raddok's quick prayer catches Arawn's attention,... GM: Ack. As always I understand busy schedules. At least 4 of the party are super busy so that happens. You guys react when can and as always I can hold game need be just let me know. As to down wind yes would know but staying still for a few moments is critical. As to Communicate as I've warned just because you are friendly doesn't mean animals are they WILL attack and by the time you act all nicey and such your throat is ripped out. So communicate could be too high a risk at times. But I assume you try to remain calm and friendly and extend no sign of hostile intent so that to me is your communication. :) For other words spoken you'd have to include later. As to the Wolf it is the same as Kell's (not Kiet he isn't dead yet :)) funeral. At least more likely unless there is another one his size in area. The Jag though is new. I covered the Raddok seeing you thing. That was a mistake by the Dwarf staff. But I fixed it by you touching him. As to panther seen in Vassa the Jag is not it different species. May have to remind me on Healing Mist as may not have time to do it. But you have to move folks and they are scattered over the entire ship deck so you need to get them closer for a mist spell. That could be risky. You are still invisible to those you don't touch. But they can 'see' you for the blood on the deck via boots thing. It will probably fade by time guards arrive. A Donaran connection applies for Raddok/Arawn so any repeated words can be done that way. From Mae: [Re: Actions] Maelorna sighs as she walks up, her other half finds the smell of GM: Ack. May want to explain the inner voice to the new players. As to sailor they are all with eyes closed so using the 2 spells is kinda difficult especially since they are unconscious. IT requires awake and them looking at you for my universe. Seduction could be argued differently but that could actually kill the dying or wounded men by increasing heart flow and bleeding out more. But once healed if you want to try again let me know. But again sailors would not want to be enthralled aginst their will so the gods may not like that so much. From Mournath: [Re: Actions] 'Well...bugger. I did not mean to end his life.' ... GM: Ack. Since '..' I assume this was thought not said. From Fremea: [Re: Actions] Seeing the dead guy on the floor, Fremea looks around... "This sure didn't go well it seems." Her smile says she... GM: Ack. From Kiet: [Re: Actions] Having done nothing wrong, Kiet will happily follow any... GM: Ack. ---------------------------------------------------------------- [New Stuff] [Marqi Frisda 23rd, 1636TH; Sivas, Marentia] [Time: Minutes earlier] The group leaves the sailor in the alley and head to the docks to find the ship. "As dashing as the sailor thought you were, I'll do my best to try and keep my hands off of you," Arawn jovially replied, shooting Damon a grin. Damon grins and nods to the Alfar. [Time: 10:30 am] The wolf and Jaguar circle Arawn. Watching the wolf and panther circle and pace, Arawn's thoughts drifted back to the black panthers he had spotted during his time in the Vassa and Sacred Forests. To others it might have seemed a coincidence but for some, himself included, it was an omen. To see one now, in such an odd place, represented mystery and self-discovery - it seemed a journey was set to begin, spiritual and physical. But who was it meant for? [Time: 10:34 am] Maelorna sighs as she walks up, her other half finds the smell of death and dying enjoyable. 'Perhaps little one we can play a bit? The irritant appears to be busy, oooh, look at that one, the meal's almost dead, he might scream nicely as we feed, how about it?' it asks with a playful tone, 'It's not like the irritant will notice.' as she rolls her eyes, though she gives Arawn a side long glance, he does appear busy at the moment. The weight of her crossbow gives her little comfort as she can easily guess how quickly he could end her life if he chose. Though at the moment she had little concern for such nor the chaos the others were doing, content to just let them kill and do all the work. 'The disgusting dwarf actually needed her help for what?' she asks herself as she looks down at a dying sailor and kneels down and caresses his cheek while giving him as much a comforting look as she can, and makes the choice. The sailor might be dying, but she can at least give him purpose and pleasure before he passes on. Using Seduction EL 4, she attempts to make him hers. Arawn hears Raddok murmur about things going wrong. Raddok's quick prayer catches Arawn's attention, his eyes narrowing, though whether from suspicion or pleasure is hard to tell. "So it would appear," he replied, continuing to tend to the downed wounded. "There's suspicion of slavery on this ship and I think the dwarves may have been among the enslaved." Arawn steps back from Radddock and becomes invisible but as he walks the blood on the boots show where he is going. Arawn sheathes his sword and looks around the deck. His medical kit by his side Arawn sought to stabilize the condition of the fallen that yet lived. As he did so he glanced at the man stumbling through an array of languages. "What happened here?," he asked, speaking in Salaqi. "And you can help me save the rest of your companions." As the rest of the party began to make their way on to the deck his disembodied voice carried from a spot not far from Raddok. "Some of these men are still alive, but barely. I'm tending to them best I can but could use some help." The Elder dwarf speaks up as Arawn goes around checking each body. Arawn was able to make out the dwarf's comments but only roughly, the language related to Faerry Sidh. But that seemed enough to get the gist of the elder's question. "No," he replied regarding his connection to the crew. "There was a battle. I came to find out what is going on." Raddok notices Arawn having difficulty trying to understand the dwarf and knows the tall elf seems to know Donaran so Raddok translates dwarf into Donaran. Raddok tries to help Arawn with the wounded as Mae tries to find a nice target. Dorhak stalks the deck as he looks for clues and finds the open hatch to the hold on the top side - the smell repels him away. No one notices a couple dwarves slip down the stairs. [Captain's office] 'Well...bugger. I did not mean to end his life.' Looking around at the charred papers -far beyond legibility- Mournath instead takes a keen eye to sweeping the room. It's possible the Captain did not have time to reach all the papers. In particular the ones that he would keep hidden from any customs agents or tax collectors. Seeing the dead guy on the floor, Fremea looks around to assess the situation. It seems something was being burned, paper most likely and Mournath killed the dead guy to make sure it stopped. Unali has stamped out some papers, though they don't look very good. She is not sure there is much to do here, though it seems Mournath is looking for something now. "This sure didn't go well it seems." Her smile says she is joking, but also knows it would have been better to keep that one alive, since it could be the captain. "Anything I can help with?" She looks to see if the blind lady is still there. When she sees her, "What is your name, blind one?" Unali looks up to see Fremea and the blind girl now in full leathers. She looks down as she sorts through the ashes as best she can to see what was lost or not lost. Mournath steps around the room and knows a captain's quarters like any other. But this is much smaller. He leans down to look around the chest and finally under the bed. Under the bed he notices a case and reaches in to grab it. On the handle seems to be some kind of rattle with a feather. But if captains have secret stores it would be this case probably. He plops the case onto the bed. The blind girl replies to Fremea, "Ix." in what seems to be Marentian. But she doesn't answer the other question yet. Unali looks up and notices the case. The blind girl also steps forward not ignoring Fremea but curious by the sudden noise of the rattle. It is almost familiar. She steps around the alcove and looks at the bed. She leans in closer for a better sense of what the item must be but it seems so familiar. Mournath tries the lock and finds the case locked. He flips the rattle which seems to make noise with a snake tail rattle. He shrugs and pulls the feather thing away pulling the small string away and shakes it. Wondering what this is for. Unali raises a hand toward Mournath to stop him from touching the case but it becomes too late when he grabs the string-feather item thing. Ix hears a faint drum and a slight breeze on the item being shaken. Then she realizes what this item is. Unali notices around the Captain's body a red hue form and quickly fade as it appears. [Top deck] Mae finds a guard with a long sword among big muscles and finds his eyes flutter. He gurgles for help and then looks to Arawn to see if he can save the man. But then decides to cast a spell and see if she can get a pet. [Alley] Z'leyra explains. "Guys! You are letting a slaver escape! Kiet and I were chasing him. Now...he is going to be gone before we can capture him. The crew of his ship were enslaving folk from this city, abducting them right off the street!" Having done nothing wrong, Kiet will happily follow any (reasonable) command the guards give. He will even answer most of their questions, letting them know that he was just trying to catch up to a ship's officer to ask him some questions about his ship and cargo. Kiet will even tell them that men from that ship attacked and tried to abduct a dwarf he knows as Dorhak. Some of Kiet’s friends, including Z'leyra, thought the ship crew might have been engaged in slavery, though silly to try to enslave dwarfs. The guard looks to the flour pile on Z'leyra's shoulder. "Describe what he looks like quickly." Z'leyra does this and raises her voice so that Corona can hear her own description. Once done the leader turns to his left. Nods to one of his men. "Find and detain." The man turns his horse around and rides fast toward the intersection and then heads to the direction last seen of the officer. "My fastest horse here. Now let's go to this ship. I have a lot of questions. You two seems to be very fast runners for some time so we'll keep up move on." Kiet and Z'leyra turn and run back toward the ship. [Time: 10:38 am] Actions? Comments? Next Update....Saturday... GM: A short update but wanted this out. Just a head's up. In Florida storms can be bad. As such I turn off the pc to avoid damage. So updates may be delayed. Some summers there are no storms and some there are every day. They tend to come 3-4 but randomly can be any time even 8am. Next update I'll move guards to the ship. They will start to question and see what is going on. From now on it may go very slow here as updates may be short spans of times - minutes. Depending on the leader - Dorhak and others how they explain things. Investigation could take hours or more. I need to check the file on the deaths and wounds. So will do that next and see how any are alive or just wounded. GM: Introducing IX! akat Blind girl. Played by Rachelle Gauthier aka Neko in Skype. :) She actually joined maybe 6 months ago when I was doing IBT. So finally she can finally join!!! Sorry for delay. Trying to get group to the ship was a bit of delay. Actually NO update will be out Saturday. I'll post HER IBT. Yes she did a IBT. :) So next update will be next tue/wed. Welcome aboard Neko! Ix let me know how you want listed as Class/Job in Roster. GM: Arawn - Moving wounded for Mist could be bad. It will take time to assess each. The ship is probably 100 feet long with bodies all strewn about. You can use Communicate or Raddok can translate for you if needed let me know. Dorhak: Ready for guards and lots of questions? May want to prepare but got a week. :) If want to prepare planned answers to typical questions you can. Mournath - I would've skyped this to ask but I figure you'd be curious to find such items and 'mess' with it. Plus its a plot filler. :) So hope you understand. But you were offline in skype. Raddok - Bess I got email late or rather I just now noticed. If you had a reply I'm sorry. I'll add it to the next update. You can post to the list directly if need be now :) Unali - Will try to get details on papers on desk later.
