Ben'Dar is standing close to Chion when he falls, and he instantly steps forward, standing over his fallen friends to protect them from the mysterious attack. When he sees nothing in front of the party, he glances around in confusion. He hisses to Fremea, who is up ahead of the party members who have collapsed, "Watch out! Something is attacking us!" When the Gargoyles approach from behind, Ben'Dar is suspicious that it's a trick and remains near his fallen comrades in case the main attack is still coming from that direction.
