"This game keeps me sane." The not much longer answer is that although I sometimes drop out for a time and have to rush myself really to read six or seven updates at a time and then reply only to the last one in style with what Unali would have done (and what you hae always perfectly dubbed in already), I do hugely appreciate this game and all the effort you put in. Personal life and the time spent on building a career keeps me away from the table- top game we ran for two decades at home. Still, RPGs are an essential part of life and through this game I get that exper ience. Besides, Unali (and Dr. Zovaster, the table-top game Chaos Wizard/your friendly neighbourhood healer that you don't want to meet) have become part of me in a way. I am not ready to part with them. If you can keep up, I will do all I can as well. It will not always e enough in my view at least, but I will try. (Now I don't feel I should have an opinion on the schedule, 2x week or once a week only, but I do like the 2x week schedule even if I don't always/mostly get to adhere to it. My view. And as to travelling: Greetings in this case from Seoul, where it is past midnight and the hotel is ridiculously expensive. almost 60 US$ for a pizza. Luckily I only have to stay here for 3 GM: Ack. Opps think I cut that ending off. But I appreciate the words. Greatly. Thanks for your opinion. Hopefully others will post as well on this. Appreciate the vote of confidence. From Fremea: [Re: Actions] Being that the guard can give her all the info she needs ... "Then we shall make sure he will not go anywhere till we... ----------------------------- As for playing, I love doing this. There are just times I am busy, but it gives me a bit of RPG that I just get to do otherwise, since most of my friends are busy too. Do as many updates as it seems will work best for you, but I for one want to keep going. GM: Ack. Thanks. That's two good votes. And folks should not be worried on offending me with the truth or whatnot. I can handle it. I went thorugh the BBS Flame Wars in the 90s. :) But thanks for kind words. From Arawn: [Re: Actions] A gesture and grin waived away any spectator suspicions... "I'm Arawn. I've come here to speak with Jordi. If he's... GM: Ack. -------------------------------------------------------------- [New Stuff] [Sepes 29th, 1634TH] [Location: City of Samma, Donara] [Fremea/Raban group] [Time: 9:28:41 am - Samma city, Donara] Being that the guard can give her all the info she needs to find this worms place, she decides that leaving him here is better and they can have some fun afterward. "Then we shall make sure he will not go anywhere till we get back. Tie him up in one of the trees and make sure he is gagged very well, so no one can hear him otherwise." After they have Grosis in a very secured spot, that only they will get to, she tells the guard to lead them to Grosis' place. Before they get there, she will have the guard tell them how many other guards there will be hanging out there and if there are any traps he knows of. His is place on the first floor or higher? Does he frequent any other places that the guards did not go in with him? Raban nods and realizes his plan about the tree might not be so wise. A 800 pound man standing on a tree limb might be a bit dangerous. He can't just hover in the air as his skill flying is more from point to point. So he'll have to get Fremea to help secure him once he is there. But he knows a tall tree near the park they passed. It is among a dozen other large trees well over 75 feet or higher. Being so close to the Wild Forest where there are trees as tall as 300 feet or more there are bound to be seedlings that pass to this area. It is not off the beaten track as anyone bird watching could see it. But it is thick enough that it should hide the bound man. Raban carries the limp slaver through the trees. He asks Fremea for help. "I may need you to secure him once I get him there." Some time later the trio finds the tree. The small pond is about 300 feet to the west and the area is thick with shrubs and other trees. Fremea does a quick aerial recon and finds no one in the area except birds in a radius of at least a full B. mile. Those nearby are on the city streets to the east that is totally oblivious to the woods nearby. Raban grabs Fremea's 12 foot cord. She does not have more rope in her bag so the cord will have to do. Then Raban takes a flying leap and take to the skies. He rounds the circle twice and then lands opposite of the pond from view. There he finds a limb about 80 feet off the ground. The man quickly does a flying dump on the tree limb which is about as wide as a adult bear. He then circles the tree with the cord and secures him in place. Raban then checks the tree the nearest tree limb is about 8 feet away. Raban lands on it and stops. Waits for the tree limb to crack and bend. It goes tumbling to the ground to prevent the man from climbing down in case he does escape. Fremea then lands on the limb near Grossis and finishes the binding. She secures his legs and mouth gag. She then places a free random limbs and moss around him to hide him even further. Landing on the ground they check on last time but the man is well hidden. [Time: 9:42:13 am - Samma city, Donara] Fremea back in her dress walks between the giant and the thralled guard. She asks her questions mentally and the guard replies in a very monotone way. "His place is a simple three or four room place at best. We don't go inside. It is a small place with only one story. It is a upper lower class neighborhood. Not quite the level of most modern middle class families. But not a one room shack as well. We aren't allowed inside as I said before. So as to traps I do not know. As to guards it me and Ardik. In fact this very day we were arguing over wages not being paid. We were about to leave him." This makes Fremea a bit sad that the other guard she ambushed was about to find new employment. But only for a few seconds of concern. The guard continues, "He likes to go to Bogan's, Camile's, a friend of his he sometimes goes to plays cards privately, a couple of entertainment halls, the brothel on Bason street and a brother he has in the south side of town." Raban asks, "his brother involved in his old business? Same for this friend of his that plays cards?" Raban waits but the guard does not reply. Then Fremea commands him to reply mentally. "Not that I know of. His brother is a florist of some kind that sells flowers. His friend....I believe he is a dealer in those cheap book store adventure novels. You know the kind of thing heroes talk about slaying a dragon with a sword and with no scratched and saving the maiden before the night's evening meal." [Time: 10:10:25 am - Samma city, Donara] Soon with some effort the guard finds the street where the scum lives. No trouble other than the usual wide eyes of seeing Raban. At one point a trio group of city guards on patrol did ask who they were. There was some rumor of a giant trashing a tavern near the wharf. But after checking out Raban for cuts and bruises they move on. So far any word on the larger group seems to be unknown. Now about 4 houses from the spot the trio stop and watch the home. Sure enough this street all has one story small homes. At most some may have 5 or 6 rooms if you include a extra room out back or on the side. The area is depressed in value and the street looks like it hasn't been worked on for a few decades. There is no street lamps like normal streets or better areas. There is only a woman hanging laundry on a rope out back about 4 houses back. There are a couple of young kids maybe around 5-6 half a dozen houses down the street. But otherwise it seems this is a working class area and all are away at work. Satisfied Fremea waves them forward. She reaches in her pocket and grabs the key she got from the slaver. Nice no need to break in. She and Raban look around the home. There are windows but they are all closed. The yard looks like it hasn't been cleaned, weeded or cut in a month or two. She orders the guard to the side of the house and warn them if others see or approach. Raban checks the door but sees nothing out of the ordinary. Fremea unlocks and opens the door. The main room is a simple kitchen with a small 4 person table, sink, cupboards and. To one side is a parlor of some sort with a wooden stove likely not just for cooking but for heat. A small two person sofa and some cushions to the ground likely for sitting. Fremea checks the cupboards and finds a few plates and glasses. Some cans and tins of what might be salted meat but looks like it could be pet food. The guy definitely does not eat like a king. The stove looks worn and used but doesn't show signs of recent use. Maybe he likes to eat out at Camile's often. There are some roaches climbing on a basket of eggs on the stove. The next room to the rear and left is a bedroom. The other room to the right and rear is a smaller closet and storage area. There are crates of food like fruits or dried stored materials. There are crates of odds and ends from pieces of furniture to books to tacky art pieces. It seems the man kept his stuff form his old richer life here in case he goes back to his old higher status standing. There are a great deal of clothing in one corner which is enough to fit a small army and the man does like to dress well. In the bedroom there is a single two person bed that is not made up or cleaned in probably a month. Smells like the brothel has come here a few times. A small chair and cabinet holds a bit more series of clothing. The man likes his belts as there seems to be at least 3 dozen leather and cloth belts. Fremea does recall him liking to dress well for the public and his friends. She figured it was more a cover for something he lacked like character and social graces. A new room in the center back between the other rooms is not larger than a small closet. It simply has a brass like tub for bathing and a cabinet of towels and cleaning supplies. Fremea looks up but the ceiling is a simple cheap thatch with a bit more than a light tornado couldn't take off - nothing to hide there. Raban removes the cheap rug in the center of the main room next to the kitchen table and checks for bottoms. But the cliche stash is not there. So where is his stash? Raban is skilled in secret places and traps but scans the rooms. Fremea checks the bed and under the sofa. Nothing. Then Raban sees something. "I'm no cook. But that stove. Why are there two pipes running to the roof? Shouldn't just be one there to take the excess smoke outside?" Fremea grins and pats the giant on his leg. She moves toward the stove. Sure enough the one pipe on the right seems to be rather loose. Raban reaches out and with ease tears the pipe away. Behind the pipe is a thin wall but nothing can be there. So they check the first pipe. Finds ash and residue So it must be the other pipe. Raban tears it as well and out a box falls form the pipe. Then a second and a third small box In the first is only coins. Maybe a couple dozen Silver, A stack of copper and an assorted collection of brass bits. The man was indeed much more poor than used to be. Fremea wonders if Bogan would have claimed these as assets if they found it for debts. In the second box is a collection of personal letters. Based on writing style and length at first glance they seem to be personal family related or love letters. Some that it seems even Camile recently replied to. A man who was cruel had a soft spot in love it seems. To hide it here means he made this a very private thing. Some letters addressed to maybe his brother and a few others that might be family. The documents can only be skimmed at this time but based on the first few lines they seem to be personal letters. The third box is a flimsy thing that breaks when it falls out. As if jammed in so long it could not take being in there any longer. Behind it several rolled up mini scrolls fall out. Based on a quick scan of the things Raban can tell they seem to be business related. Fremea is not a fluent reader but Raban is. But both can see notes to and from Mavac. But in this case it is signed CM. But it can be quickly figured it must be Captain Mavac. There are documents from others who they don't recognize the names at all. There are lists of what seems to be slave Grosis had or sold which sickens Fremea so much she has to sit on the sofa. There must be over a hundred names. Skimming the ages most are around 12-19. A second list is the demon list showing 22 names that seem to be Faerry like names. So they seem to be just starting that group based on the dates. Fremea sees the name of the Faerry that she found in the Vong cave. The one that told of things going on. In her entry it is marked escaped with a number to the side that must be a bounty. Only four such entries on bot lists show this but the others are all killed with a entry of dead. Raban stands at the table and looks at the documents and then back toward Fremea. "This may take time to figure out. It is clear the man has no great stash. We could to through the storage again but looks cheap stuff. This place might be best for a farm family not a business man. Should we stay and read them or leave?" Fremea feels sick, disgusted and angry. She wished she could've taken the man down piece by piece. Drop his organization down to nothing but dust. But it seems she is too late. But he still lives and that angers her more. [Time: 10:26:18 am - Samma city, Donara] ------------ [Kell/Unali's group] [Time: 9:58:12 am - Samma city, Donara] Kell leaves the barn heading to find Kiet. He isn't sure if Unali is serious or not. But when she doesn't come back to stop him he decides she is serious. Kell scratches Squirt in his arms as they walk. "Yeah. This is odd business. What happened to just selling stuff? Now I'm looking for some missing family and torturing a scumbag. Cousin Jarl would be upset. But then again he spent way too much time on the pasture with those sheep and somehow found himself naked." Inside Mavac looks at Unali and sizes her up. "You could go far in our organization. I could even find you a boy or two if you-" Unali slaps the man with the back of her dagger hilt causing a massive bruise. The man laughs, "fine. Not into that sort of thing? How about money. We could set you up for life. My people are rich beyond what you can imagine." Unali ignores the man. Her loot alone is enough for a king's ransom at her place. Course Aren would say infiltrate to find the full organization. But that would take time like weeks or months. Fremea will not be around that long. She glances down at Mavac's groin and laughs knowing the man must surely cover up for compensation in other areas. [Time: 10:21:12 am - Samma city, Donara] Kell returns to the tavern and finds Etain at a back table drinking a mug of ale. Kell wonders if the Elf has regained his love for drinking. He sits down and Etain looks up. "Just missed Arawn. Was looking for Kiet and Z'leyra. They are out looking at Bogan's place. So Arawn went to find Jordi for some reason." Etain glances at the door and sighs. "I guess Fremea is still missing as well. Wait. Where is Unail?" Kell informs him what they found in quite whispers. "He was a bit reluctant. I think Unali Kiet to help persuade him a bit better. Can you send him to where we were when they get here?" Kell gives a brief quick path to find them. Etain look to the stairs to the back. "That Will guy is upstairs in the room. He is a quiet one. Does he do anything but write and draw?" Kell just shrugs and lifts up his own drink. Kell finishes his own quick mug of beer and leaves back toward the bar. In Ba'ru he'd never drink this early but it would be rude not to do so with Etain drinking. [Time: 10:33:35 am - Samma city, Donara] --------------- [Kiet/Z'leyra/Etain's group] [Time: 8:58:17 am - Samma city, Donara] Kiet looks over to Z'leyra with a puzzled, somewhat apprehensive look on his face. "Are you sure you want to do this? I don't really want any trouble with the local guards and, quite frankly, I don't have any real skills at sneaking around... or thieving. How would you suggest we deal with the guards or guards?" "One guard, in front of the house." replies Z'leyra. "The trick is to avoid attracting his or anyone else's attention. So if you are prepared to watch out and noisily distract anyone if they start to investigate the house I can cast a spell and walk thru the wall and have a look around." Kiet adds, "I can always create a distraction, or (if we can get close enough) I can send in a mana sphere and look around that way." Z'leyra replies "Create a distraction only if needed. If plan A doesn't work we can go with your using the mana sphere as plan B." Kiet considers his options. A sphere would require getting very close to the house. A illusion might be 80 feet. So for that Kiet will have to get to the next property and hide in the bushes. Both options are not great. But it seems the property to the south of Bogan's place is empty now or so it seems. At this distance of three houses the guard looks bored but not sleepy. A guard this time of day will lead to a very alert guard compared to say one at night. Z'leyra and Kiet move to the side and move north toward Bogan's place. They pretend to eye the houses like as if possible hoping to buy. They both end up at the edge of the property next to Bogan's. Now about 100 feet from the guard standing at the gate by the street. The crowd has dispersed and only a few older ladies are down the street chatting about 4 houses down to the street in the north. The others have gone to their homes. Doing this in the middle of the day Kiet finds annoying as its too easy to be seen. But the Shaman seems to know what she is doing. Both slip between a tree and set of shrugs at the border of the property next to Bogan's place. They look at the house they are in front and see nothing in the windows. Then they merge into the shrubs. Kiet finds a good place to stand and maybe sit down if needed. In the bush he is well hidden. [Time: 9:08:30 am - Samma city, Donara] Z'leyra then casts invisibility to go from view. Z'leyra then starts to cast Insubstantial and then Levitate since it will be needed to move. w Z'leyra then levitates and moves straight for the house which is about 50 feet away. She enters the first floor in what looks to be a parlor. But six seconds later her insubstantial spell ends and she becomes solid again. A few seconds later she lands on the ground on her feet now with her levitate spell ending. But she knows he has maybe 30 seconds to explore before the invisibilty spell ends. She moves quickly from room to room and looks in corners. For now she isn't looking at items but for guards or others. Twenty seconds later she climbs the stairs to the second floor and checks three rooms begins visible again. But at this point and based on noise there is no one else in the house. [Time: 9:09:32 am - Samma city, Donara] Z'leyra glances at the front gate through the second story window and sees the guard just looking away from the house toward the street. ----------------- [Arawn group] [Time: 11:06:25 am - Samma city, Donara] A gesture and grin waived away any spectator suspicions as Arawn slipped into a relaxed position against the counter, his demeanor encouraged the image of two patrons making acquaintance. "I'm Arawn. I've come here to speak with Jordi. If he's not familiar with my name tell him that I'm allied with his old friends from earlier this evening." The Elf looks at Arawn and then studies his face a bit. He then suddenly reaches up toward Arawn's head. Arawn is fast and could deflect any such thing. But Arawn's instinct is not to act. The Elf reaches up and brushes his hair back and places a hand on Arawn's left ear nearest the bar front away from the view of others. Arawn can feel his ear being pulled slightly. Then as quickly as it started the Elf nods. "A bug I had to get rid of." He then leans in closer and whispers. "Our Human allies speak of fakes who try to get to our meeting." Arawn nods and places his hair back over his ears. The paranoid nature humans in this culture can be intense. The Elf places his hand in his pocket and then turns to nod at the semi-hidden-yet-obvious door bodyguard. He glances over his shoulder. "Wait here." The Elf moves toward the back room and enters. He fins another person and leans to whisper. "A Elf. Names himself Arawn. Seems to want to speak to you?" At the word Arawn, Jordi's eyes widen. He quickly stands. "Here? Where?" Jordi is glad he didn't mention his name out loud. He turns to the group at the table. "I need to do something. Can we have a short break?" The others nod and being to chat among themselves. Jordi turns to the Elf and motions him out. Arawn sees a tall man, who has to be a Elf of middle age, step out. Arawn can see Jordi gulp and quickly move forward. He leans to the other Elf. "Please tell me you didn't test him?" The other Elf just nods and looks suspicious. Jordi sighs and gets to Arawn. "I am Jordi. You are Arawn son of our great patron Payan." He says this as declaration rather than asking while keeping his voice very low. The other Elf hears this and sits down a bit sick at possibly offending a great Elf. Jordi looks to the dinning public area. "Is there something I can do for you? Shall we go outside or find a table?" [Time: 11:09:13 am - Samma city, Donara] ---Ending Time--- [Current time for each group] [Time: 10:26:18 am - Samma city, Donara] [Time: 10:33:35 am - Samma city, Donara] - Kell/Unali [Time: 8:09:32 am - Samma city, Donara] - Kiet/Z'leyra [Time: 11:09:13 am - Samma city, Donara] - Arawn Actions? Comments? Next Update...Monday... GM: A good place to stop. Placed for actions needed. I couldn't get it out Monday due to some small emergency had to deal with. I appreciate the comments from Wout and Tobie on the game. Maybe others will post or email their views. Hope everyone had a good Labor day for the USA. Now things will start to slow down a bit for more vacations here and more free time to slack (probably means tons more Diablo 3). GM: Arawn - What now? Fremea - Back to the tree or somewhere else or stay to study the documents? If stay how long do you take before needing to leave (just so I can do it time wise). Kiet - Sphere is out distance wise. So got you in illusion range. But may have to set the illusion more near you so not to get out of range. If this is needed. May not. Z'leyra - As the rules file show need that Levitate as we figured out a few years ago. Since all three were EL0 they died quickly. So what now? There are maybe 3-4 rooms still to check but then can check each room more carefully. Or go get Kiet? Search alone? how searching? Etc. All three spells are over and will do the experience later next update. GM: Tasks to do - * Find mysterious Mage - Upcoming updates * Sell loot if possible Upcoming Updates GM: Teams - Find Fremea's slaver - Fremea, Raban Town slavers - Kell, Unali Find Moon Gort - Arawn Read scrolls - Etain, Will Bogan's place - Kiet/Z'leyra
