She can't read it fully but she knows enough reading Donaran that there is a wealth of information here. Not wealth in coins but in information that could bring things down. Raban also skims the documents and glances at Fremea for orders to stay here or return to Grosis. ------------ [Kell/Unali's group] [Time: 10:33:35 am - Samma city, Donara] Kell waits a bit to see if Kiet returns. --------------- [Kiet/Z'leyra/Etain's group] [Time: 9:09:32 am - Samma city, Donara] Z'leyra leaves the window now visible and begins to move to the final set of rooms upstairs not searched. Holding her sword she opens the door slowly and only hears the creak of the door. The last three rooms are a room for bathing with a nice metal basin, sink and closet. The other two rooms are a master bedroom and a small bedroom that looks like maybe a guest room. It is unclear if Bogan has family but likely based on his scummy ways he probably does not. Finally there appears to be no one in the house. Z'leyra sheathes her sword and begins to move back downstairs to search more carefully. Outside in the tall shrubbery barrier that marks the property of Bogan's place and the one to the south, Kiet stands. Rather he scratches at a bug that bites his arm. A bug time of year? Z'leyra is nice and safe and the acrobat is in the bushes watching the guard in case a distraction is needed. He grumbles under his breath. Is she coming back to fetch him? Downstairs Z'leyra starts the search. She has no great skills in searching for traps or hidden areas like Raban, so she will have to depend on her own eyes. The kitchen is large and spotless. If that woman outside on the street was a maid then she must've been a good cleaner. There is a cabinet of very fine plates and other eating accessories. A thief finding this cabinet could live on for half a year or more. There is fine crystal and a golden butter dish. Clearly Bogan is doing well or rather was before he found fire to be his end. Other rooms are a parlor with fine sofa, cushions and chairs of satin and fine leather. The rug in the center is probably worth a couple gold. She checks under the rug but the carpeted floor seems solid. The next room is a dinning room with enough to sit 8 people. A fine drink cabinet and bar hosts enough fine wines and drinks from half the nations in the region. The next room is a game room with a long rectangle table that could sit 6-8 at cards. There is another small bar here a swell with less drinks. But under the table it seems it serves as many purposes. A latch allows the table to slide this and that to reveal a game platform that looks like a modern billiard table with pockets that use closed holes. Z'leyra is not sure what this game is but it seems interesting. There is a dart board, long sticks about 4-5 feet tall hanging on a wall that Z'leyra is not sure what the purpose is. There is a small sofa with a small table of thin books that may be those adventure novels that so many folks like to read. There is a storage room which takes a full three minutes ot search but nothing but foodstuffs, clothing, house parts like nails or garden tools and such. Outside Kiet scratches his bug bite injury. No poison but it just is annoying. It has been 15 minutes and no word. He is starting to consider going to find Z'leyra. Kiet pushes to the edge of the shrugs and studies Bogan's home. Then a shadow is seen in a downstairs window. A form with a large helmet of sorts. Then Z'leyra waves and then moves away from the window before Kiet can even react. Kiet grumbles again. At least she is alive for now. Going upstairs Z'leyra begins the search there. The bathroom is clearly empty and has nothing. The guest bedroom seem sot have just a small bed, empty closet and small stand by the bed. In the bed there are some shackles, candles, what seems to be some kind of body oil and some dirty rags. It seems Bogan must have used his slaves here for some entertainment. The master bedroom shows a much better bed that could fit 3 full adults. The sheets and pillows are all silk. A closet is full of clothing of all kinds from riding tunics to formal dance clothing to fine boots that could feed a peasant for a month. The finely crafted animal hide belts are alone to feed a beggar for months. Another chest is there with some personal items of letters, boxes of coins, jewelry, assorted weapons and armor. The weapons include simple cheap daggers to ceremonial knives of fine craftsman to a sword that looks like it was made by a master smith. Probably all items Bogan either obtained by debts or from winnings in games. Z'leyra does not figure the man to be much a combat person so it must be loot from victims. Z'leyra is considering getting Kiet in here to help search as clearly this place is empty of large stashes. The sea chest in the bedroom might be worth some gold with the stuff but this doesn't seem to be a major amount. Z'leyra glances around just as her helm hits a hanging overhead light that has no candles active on it. Then Z'leyra recalls this place has a third story or at least a attic. Using her staff she bangs on the ceiling and tries to find any signs of a hatch or door. Then near the bathroom a area sounds hollow. She stares at the brown painted ceiling and cant' see much at all. There are 3 set of small hanging candle light fixtures on the ceiling. There is a chair at the end next to the closet. There are several fine paintings on the wall but those had nothing behind them. Then there are a single candle holders that are ornately crafted like tiny animal skulls maybe the size of a small rat. They are spaced about every 10 feet for 4 such holders. Z'leyra considers her options. She could use more spells to get upstairs but Kiet might be getting a bit antsy as it is now. Outside it is almost 25 minutes since Z'leyra left and the guard is still standing there with his back to the home with Kiet's location to his right and behind at around 4 o'clock from the guard's line of sight. The guard looks bored but Kiet can see he is not moving a very alert but man who follows orders. He might want to go to find bushes to relieve himself but that might be a bit of time to wait. Inside Z'leyra wishes Raban was here. She considers a place upstairs can't be just blocked off. What if it is just girders and a low roof only animals can use. Maybe she was not seeing a full roof but a fake third floor like some do to look bigger. Turning around Z'leyra's large bag of stuff on her back hits one of the wall holders. A pop is heard and Z'leyra turns to find the holder tilted as if broken. Z'leyra reaches to fix it then finds it very wobbly. She twists it further and back to place then twists it to the left this time. She hears a click and then a noise behind her. She whirls around again to attack but finds a small ladder dropping to the ground from the now hatch that opened. The hatch swing up to the right revealing a way upstairs. The ladder is a rickety wooden laced ladder that uses a mechanism to unfold. It seems to click into place a foot above the ground. Z'leyra peers up into the darkness. The hatch is enough for even Raban to fit though he would crush the ladder. [Time: 9:34:20 am - Samma city, Donara] ----------------- [Arawn group] [Time: 11:09:13 am - Samma city, Donara] Arawn gave a warm smile when Jordi voiced his recognition, shifting his gaze for a moment towards the other elf to let him know that there was no harm done and all was well. His smile was more than a greeting, it was a reflection of pleasure, not of recognition of lineage but that his letter had reached the elven diplomat (so he hoped!). "Thank you and there is," came the reply. "And somewhere private would be preferred." Recalling the diplomat had mentioned meeting with other elves to discuss the Climan problem when he had encountered the party he added, "But if you're in the middle of something important I can wait until you have the time. Or, if you prefer, I may join you if my presence might be of benefit." He looked Jordi in the eye he continued, "You can speak honestly. I prefer such over etiquette." Jordi glances about a bit nervously. "Just a moment." He moves toward the bar to speak to the barkeep. They speak for a minute or two then Jordi comes back over. "I can use of the empty rooms upstairs. Come this way. " Arawn watches Jordi lead the way and can read him like a human child in a candy shop. The Elf is clearly nervous of being in front of a Alfar. But there is also a new emotion that Arawn can't seem to grab. Maybe hope or ambition. Soon both enter a small room with a single bed, chair and small table for writing or food. Jordi waits for Arawn to select his spot and Arawn decides to take the chair. Jordi sits on the bed. Arawn asks if Jordi got his letter on the Dark Elves and the Dark Elf armor. Jordi shakes his head, "sorry. I've not been home for a bit of time. I've been this and that way to get our alliance going. I really should return soon though as Neva is home alone with our child." He grins and then sighs knowing that this mission to rid the Climans on the edge of the Forest is also important. Jordi then continues, "Dark Elves?" He straightens up stiffly and looks at the window to a tree outside. "I do not know of what they are all about. There are rumors....that Elves somewhere at sea are not like us. Not in the same traditions and honor as we are." He looks at Arawn in the eye. "Where they are actually located I don't now. I have a ear to the High Councils but I actually never asked. I may not want to know. There are stories mothers give to kids of the bad elves that will sneak up and snatch you away." He pauses for a minute then adds, "I have a family now. I don't know if I should get involved with this new threat if they even exist. It could just be some myth." Arawn tells him that he is looking for the Moon Gort and if he knows of anything he might know. "I never heard of it before. I'm a warrior diplomat. I know a weird combination. But ..." He considers his words in thought. "I learned my magic mostly by books and scrolls. But my master always babbled about such things. He mentioned it once I think when I was just starting." He considers for his memory. "I just think they tend to like open areas like the plains. But as to specific areas. I don't know. " Both talk about this ritual that might help Fremea block the effects of Varange. "Varange?! That fool!" He laughs slightly. "I don't think he would harm Fremea intentionally. I do think he is devoted to his race and the glory of his people. I think that will not stop him. There is that rule by the Royals that no Fae can harm another. This is a sacred thing. But it won't stop him from hurting others. He isn't as bad as Thig who threatened to feed his dog a pirate. But he tends to be very serious. This plan to block his effect I don't know of as well. I suspect Varange just uses it to keep tabs on Fremea to ensure he isn't surprised. One thing I can say is if you use the effect against him it will be better than blocking. If you can figure out when he can sense her and such then use it against him." Arawn considers this and tries to recall what they know. Varange seems to be using their mark to see through her eyes. To get a sense for her location. But it is not known if this is a precise location. Couldn't Fremea just close her eyes to avoid it? There is still too much unknown. "I don't know Fremea other than meeting her last night. But she seems...angry. That emotion can rule her spirit. If you can turn that emotion to confusion or ...or...or..." He smiles and considers something. "Why not trick him? Use a map as if planing a trip to find him. A way to distract him. A fake plan or such. Can he hear her? I don['t know." he slaps his hand on his knee. "I wish I could help more." Arawn asks about Etain. "That Elf that seemed to show up after the fight? I heard of his name in the area. Let's face it a Elf in this city is hard to miss. This one seemed to care less of being seen like us. Either a brave one or a foolish one. But I heard he was lost in the ale so that may explain it. I heard of his name years ago. When the Council made me a diplomat for the outside world I was briefed a bit on him. He was training this ..oh! Fremea?" Arawn nods. "I see. Some controversy there and then rumors that he left for some reason. But that was more recently. Rumors of something like disgrace or such. But I don't know more than that. The Council might now more than I do." Arawn asks if he knows about Faerry Courts, Marked Ones and things related to Fremea's situation. Jordi listens intently. "A Mark? I've never heard of such. I may be high in the society but even I don't know all the secrets. Maybe the Council knows. Don't know of this Scholar that may be linked to things. So this is how Varange can find her? The Mark.... interesting. You are going to Avalon? That is some distance away. Allies there? I dealt with one once in awhile through letters. A female craftsman who was skilled in glass making. But I don't know of others. Thig or Kaylle might know more. Isn't Kaylle in Marentia in that library?" Arawn asks about Varange and any insight on the An's'alum and how to shield from it. "A three piece item? Sounds like what Varange might use for restoring the Fae's glory. Varange sees one sight..one vision. He has honor though it has rough edges. I don't think he would harm her parents. That would be against the sacred code. Using them for his purpose? Maybe. I've near heard of this piece but ..the Council may know more than I do As to blocking the effects I would only guess. Every magical item has its weakness. Every item has its drawbacks. To find this one may take time to research but I know you don't have time to find out. I'm sorry." Arawn asks about any word on why he is here in the middle world. "I've heard nothing. I'm shocked to even see you here. I did not want to mention it earlier. But now that you bring it up you are ..maybe in danger here. If the enemies of the Sidh know you are here..." He lets that trail off. "I've been so engrossed in this mission against the Climans that I have no heard of any recent news." He becomes serious and then stiffens a bit. "But if you are here. There has to be a purpose." He looks at the tree and considers. "I would be selfish to say to help our kind. Against the greater threats like Clima. But that would be selfish. I think you have a greatrr destiny only the fates know of. To bring you here and in front of me a hand of the council may not be a simple coincidence either." Finally Arawn asks if he can help Jordi that might not distract helping Fremea. "Serious?" Jordi grins. "Well I think your presence. If we are to let the others know who you really are might rally them. Might show that maybe a greater power is behind our goal? The humans in our alliance would need to know who you are in depth but the bickering on the details of our mission might end if we can show that there is hope." Then he stops and considers things. "But the Elves in our alliance might see it a desperation." He stands and starts to pace a bit. He stops and eyes Arawn. "No. I think it would help. Could you speak to them? It might endanger you to let them know who you are but that is up to you. Simply saying your another Elf would not do any good. But a Alfar. It could rally them to finalize things." He stops and looks for Arawn to reply. [Time: 11:27:42 am - Samma city, Donara] ---Ending Time--- [Current time for each group] [Time: 10:27:18 am - Samma city, Donara] [Time: 10:33:35 am - Samma city, Donara] - Kell/Unali [Time: 9:34:20 am - Samma city, Donara] - Kiet/Z'leyra [Time: 11:27:42 am - Samma city, Donara] - Arawn Actions? Comments? Next Update...Friday... GM: A good place to stop. I may need to stall some groups. Unali's group is dependent on Kiet's group coming back to the tavern. Since Kiet's group is an hour before the actions in Unali's group (see above) I may just wait and hold that group to catch up and sync time. I am off Thursday so will work on update early. Around 2pm or so if I can so i can relax that night. If no posts by then will go with what I have if I can. But no rush. GM: Arawn - Hope that answers most of your questions from email. You don't know who is downstairs so you will need to decide and what to say IF you do make an appearance in the meeting. Fremea - I would've asked in chat. But I forgot. So just will wait to see if you stay to read the papers or go back to find grosis and then what after? Kiet - Since Z'leyra never posted had to handle things as above. So if you want to make a quick dash to the house to join her you can. From the window scene to the end of the time it was 6 minutes. So you could meet her just as she got the ladder shown up. Up to you. Basically a rough overlook. You are facing north. The house is about 50 feet to the NW or about 11 o'clock. The guard at the gate/fence is at 2 o'clock to you about 40 feet away. He is motionless for the most part though shifts feet back/forth. To run to the house it is a open area with no trees though so it will be a 50 feet dash. You could try to slink all the way west alone the shrub fence and then go north on the back shrub-wall of the property then cross into the back yard totally out of view of the guard. That a good word picture or need more details? Unali - Sorry forgot email last time. Incoming. Will - I know your busy. But you could go with Kell back to help Unali if need be or just sleep in the bed all day? I don't know enough of Will's personality to run him effectively otherwise. :) Z'leyra - Since no post on how to search it took 25 min to search. If had details ahead of it me might've cut that down to half but who knows. I also did not know if getting Kiet or not. So left that as well open.
