* PBEM Player Introductions Below are generic or specific introductions your character can give. The method and information you give is up to you. It can be in specific form with bullet points, role playing as if in a personal introduction or third person with general details. While the Bio - Personalities file has details on character history this file can contain just introductory info. More like a advertisement on your character and his/her abilities. If you wish to add to this file then send me the info. Keep in mind just use basic stuff you don't need to go into what you had breakfast on your 13th birthday. Whatever you send I will just cut/paste below so edit and review before sending. 1. Caladan aka "Sundancer" "Hello I am Caladan a Wizard Law. I was born on the Zen'da plains of the Ga'fel tribe. I am trained as a wizard in the use of Fire, Sleep and Storm magics. My pet here is a Firesnake which has been with me since I was a child. While my father is Ga'sha, tribal chief, I prefer to remain out of tribal politics. I am not the best fighter or magician around." Caldan prefers the War Staff as his melee weapon. This is a magical war staff with lightning ability. For missile he uses the composite bow For armor purposes he dresses only in leather or quilted armor and may use a metal helmet. Tends to stick with only riding horses rather than war horses. He does not dress like most Zen'da but rather in Marentian styles. He tends to wear simple leather jerkins, black pants, brown cloak, simple gloves and black boots. He carries usually a backpack of his gear around with him. He has demonstrated in the past the ability to shape change using the basic spell. He owns a small house in the forest north of Maren city, Marentia. * Race: Human * Homeland: Ga'fel Tribe, Zen'da * Age: Mid 20s * Height: 6' 4 * Weight: 220 pounds * Hobbies: Bowyer, Climbing, Arrow making, Stealth/Intrigue * Survival training: Badlands, Forest, Hill, Mountain and Plains. * Languages: Climan, Marentian, Zen'dali, Sign * Spell Specialities: Fire, Sleep and Storm Powers. * Magical Master: Woundenl in L'p'nth/Marentian border mountains * Pet: Firesnake 2. Kiet Sunan "I was ship-wrecked on the coast of the Dark Lands, which was an ordeal and adventure in itself. I had heard of this land from my mentor, but he had few specifics. I had intended to travel at least to the small, singular Elder kingdom, but never quite made it. It is probably for the best as the mages in posession of kingdoms in this land guard them jealously, and one should not mess with an Elder mage." "As an Elder mage myself, I am well versed in Illusion Powers, Abandon, and Entangle. When necessary, I can also use Smokeless Flame. I have been busy making items I plan to enchant or ensorcell, ward or some combination of those. If I warn you about the items, be very certain to heed those warnings. They are intended to be traps against thieves and attackers, but traps are stupid, not always knowing friend from foe. And the traps will not be gentle." "I am especially interested in Natural Magic items, and knowlege of their makings and effects. I am a trained Herbalist and Jeweler, so can identify most of these items. I have acting and acrobatic skills, and am somewhat skilled in Executioner methods. I use the ropes, and Entangle, to make my attackers helpless, and then deal with them as appropriate. Also, I believe the time has come to investigate the construction of a staff, or at least a wand. But I believe I must leave the Dark Lands before that can occur." "My military skills are limited. I can effectively use a dagger and javelins, but that is about all. This sword on my hip we took from some gargoyles and I keep only for the magic it can project. IT can paralyse or slow down the intended target." "Sadly, I have not yet brought myself to trust these horse creatures you all seem to like so well. We do not have them on Lemasa, and I have no experience riding one. The donkey is bad enough" 3. Z'leyra "Greetings. My name is Z'leyra. Born a Kameri, I was raised as a shaman. Please be courteous to any eagles you see. When my mother died in my late teens I went to Ticasi with my father. Years later when my father died I ceased my studies there and went to put my learning to practical use. By inclination I am a healer. I am gradually gathering together the means to start and maintain a school of healing. For income, other than that acquired through adventuring, I am a skilled enchanter. Indeed I sometimes make and enchant items for my fellow adventurers." Z'leyra is well outfitted, depending on the situation, in either fine clothing or artistic (slightly damaged) chainmail and the helm made of lizard-like hide with gems implanted in it. She carries a war staff inscribed with runes and slung across her back is an artistic greatsword in an engraved sheath. A number of pieces of jewelry are worn by her as well. Over her shoulder she will have a satchel, presumably containing a number of items including healing herbs and bandages. At her side she has a small tambourine type drum. She can shape change into eagle form. She is known to be able to talk with horses. She owns a manor on the outskirts of Sivas in Marentia. While far from being the party's best fighter she has mentioned in the past that one of her items gives her bravery or fearlessness and she has fearlessly put herself in danger to help the party in the past. That she wears enchanted armor and uses enchanted weaponry is likely why she has survived those situations. One of the party that has mana sensing has been overheard mentioning that most of her items glow brightly from enchantment. Most items she creates she makes artistically and enchants. * Race: Human * Homeland: Kameri Tribe, Kameran / Ticasi * Age: Mid 20s * Height: 5' 10" * Weight: 140 pounds * Hobbies: Working towards starting school for healers; Learning new languages; Learning new spells; Enchanting items. * Survival training: City, Forest, Hill, and some Plains. * Languages: Aratad; Climan, Donaran; Eagle; Helva; Horse; Kameri; Katai; Lemasan; Marentian, Salaqi; Vassa; Zen'dali, Sign Tongue of the Sidh; Elf Sidh; Faerry Sidh. * Magic Training: Shamanic; Balance Wizardry; Sidh Magician. * Companion: Corona. Eagle Tonah w magical powers. 4. Ha'kell Kell spends much of the time in the markets with Kiet talking about various things, and helping him pick a quality shield that fits him, and compliments his fighting style. Kell give his story to Kiet in bits and pieces as they are walking, shopping, and talking. "My mother was a beautiful woman living in Ba’Ru, the capital city of Ba’Rual . She had a marriage by betrothal which seemed great. They married when she was young and had one child, a boy. She says they were happy, until that bad day. The day he was killed. After this she had some money, so she moved to Baste. There she saw many weird and wonderful things and people. Ba’Rual is a nation of traders and merchants, we have much pride on our abilities; our arms and armor are some of the finest anywhere." "In Baste she met her second husband, my father P’ter. He was a traveling elf and somehow they met. I don’t know the full story. He was strikingly handsome, as is my mother, and both are smart as well. I’ve been told I look a lot like my father in some ways, excepting the pointy ears and skin colorings. Those I got from my mom." He lived there on and off for many years, traveling a lot. But while there he was a good father and taught me what he could. We haven’t seen him in fifteen years and I’m looking for him during my travels.. I hope to find something of him." They had me, then my younger brother Swansi, and my younger sister Emili. My older brother is a full human, and was a fantastic merchant. He helped teach me when I was young. He died several years ago of a terrible sickness. The healers could not help him." Growing up near the great lake, we went swimming a lot as children, and we went climbing as well. It was not always great, but fun usually." When I turned fourteen I become the local wizard’s apprentice.. He looks in his fifties or sixties, but I know he’s a lot older than that. He taught me all about deceit and deception, using illusions and magic, and non-magic too. To finish a fight once it starts, and it is ok to avoid the fight when possible. Illusions can be very useful. He also taught me about summoning, one of his favorite tricks. Of course he taught me the usual wizard’s skills and spells. We’re still friends to this day and I value his advice and friendship. Before I visited the Dark Lands, he was likely the most powerful wizard I’ve met. I always wondered why he was in Baste, and why he took me as his apprentice." Once done, I stayed and helped him for a few years. Then I got itchy, wanting to travel and see the world. I left and joined as a caravan guard. Not just an average guard with my mage training, but a more useful guard. I also started learning about buying and selling, picking up my merchant skills and bargaining in the process. I started doing a lot of the talking for the caravan, my natural eloquence helping greatly." Then in 1628 my younger brother was travelling with a different caravan, near L’P’Nth. They were attacked by a very large group from L’P’Nth. Most were killed. All the cargo and the caravan itself was taken. Swansi survived the attack, and all the survivors were taken as slaves. As soon as I heard this, I resigned. I recruited some friends to mount a rescue, I have known some very rough people from my travels.. Mongo was one of those I recruited." Visibly angry as he tells this, Ha’Kell looks ready to kick some arse. "It took a year, but we found Swansi and several others from that caravan. We planned the raid. We executed it. We rescued Swansi and several other slaves. The L’P’Nth dogs we killed - as many as we could.. Mongo’s cousin was another of those we saved in this raid. We ran away and were pursued for weeks. We had to finally loose them in some mountains. Mongo stayed behind in the pass to cover our escape. The last we saw of Mongo, he was facing a horde of L’P’Nth slavers and killers in that tiny pass. He stayed so we could escape." Pausing and taking some breaths Kell finishes this portion of his story. "That was in 1629 when we rescued Swansi, about five years ago." Pausing to do buying and selling in the market, they keep walking and talking. Ha’Kell continues his story… "After rescuing Swansi and the others, and after he was healthy and fully recuperated, we talked things over and made a decision. We started our own long distance overland trading business. It started slowly but was growing very well. In a few years we were taking our own caravan and had hired guards and so on. It was great. Making money and spending time traveling with people we liked. I highly recommend this." "Of course, while we were doing well we cut into other’s business. They didn’t like this, not one bit. Whilst I like and encourage healthy competition, not all others do." Sigh. "We had our largest caravans on that trip in 1632. Thirteen fully loaded wagons with crews and oxen and guards on horseback. We had travelled all over, selling a variety of goods, wines, and weapons and making a handsome profit that trip. We loaded the wagons for the return trip and started out." "Making it back to Ba’ru and selling that cargo was worth another small fortune. Do you know how much thirteen wagons can carry? A lot." Big merchant smile at that, and Ha’Kell continues, "We would be set for a long time, could afford our own warehouse, and start a second caravan of at least ten wagons. This was dramatic growth. Growth that got attention…" Pausing here, looking at some wine in the market and doing a qquick examination. Placing it down again and shaking his head, muttering "They’re asking double what that bottle is worth." "Attention is not all good. We never made it back to Ba’ru. We had a heavy guard with us, sixteen on horseback for the thirteen wagons, tough and strong men all. Many I had known for years. Even Swansi and I count, his archery was almost a match for our father’s. They attacked with at least twenty. All on horseback. This was no mere banditry we were facing with that many, and that well armed." "They had another wizard to counter my limited skills. The magic was a standoff. We were well armed, well positioned, and had a tough crew. Until six of our guards turned on us. Six they had setup for just this, over a year earlier. That shifted the odds to their favor, twenty-six or more to our ten. We fought well. And died. Most of us died." "I was fighting with the other guards, desperately trying to save ourselves. After finishing a shorter man wielding two swords, I found myself fighting a man who was wielding a great two-handed sword. He stood at least six foot six, and had flaming red hair. The last I remember was that sword smashing into my helmet, the blow so powerful it cut my spear in half and knocked my helmet off. It also knocked me out cold. I remember my helmet flying off my head, blood spraying, and that was all." "I thought I was dead. I should have been dead. But I woke up. I was in some room I didn’t recognize. A deep voice assured me I was safe, and I should rest. Oddly, he had the accent of someone from Ba’ru, and we were still several hundred miles away. I remember this then passed out again." "Well, to shorten the story, he had found the remains of the caravan. One wagon was burning and the rest were gone. The smoke gave us away. There were few survivors, me among them. He thought I was dead from all the blood on my head, but had found me breathing. The wound looked worse than it was. That saved my life, otherwise that red haired giant would have cut my throat." "We left later that afternoon to examine the sight of the ambush. I could barely stay in the saddle, but had to see it myself. The attack was the day before." "We arrived after several hours. Everyone was dead. There was Tan, the guard commander, with his arm off and bled to death. There were the two archer brothers from Katai, Kasi and Chan. Peter. Young Gass that had signed on to learn his father’s trade, and his father Candle. More dead. Then I found Swansi. Dead. His head clean off. I needed time with Swansi’s body, his death so sudden. I can think of only one attacker that had the might to do that, to take a head off – the red haired giant."" "I was getting faint again, and no one would disturb the dead because it was a not much used trail, so Kranus forced me back. He paid to heal me, and helped in so many ways that week. Paid for my time in the Inn . Helped me by healing my head would. Helped later to return and bury the dead. I owe him a great debt, and one of friendship as well. We became fast friends, he is my best friend, we would die for each other." "Kranus was from Ba’ru, a mighty warrior. He was returning to Ba’ru on some business when he stumbled on the aftermath. We are friends to this day, and help each other all we can. I wish he were here now, his sword would be a mighty help to us, and death for the Vong." After this debacle, this betrayal, I vowed to find the house that did it. And have justice. I have narrowed it down to three houses that work in or through Ba’ru." Sighing and pausing, Kell adjusts his hat. "But I have to make a living too. Until then, I can be patient. Not wanting to risk anyone else, I have been travelling and trading since then, traveling alone. Finding and delivering small, specialty items that are rare or hard to find. Which is what brought me to the Dark Lands, and into your fine company." "I hope this story has not been too boring for you. You are the first here to know it all, possibly the only one." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated 1/1/13
