May be some past things, but more likely just dealing with the new stupid snake and that darn arm. Man!!! :) ] [past] Kell is very pleased with the welcome, and is very welcoming back. He has so many daggers he will give one as a present also. He tries to start improving his Zen'da speaking and learning more about how to survive in this desolate land. To call it plains is almost an insult to plains, this looks and feels more like a desert. He ties the band about his right arm and gives a short bow for the gift. This is one of the best things given from them that he can ever remember. The value for the trip may well be worth more than any horse, even Arawn's. [back to present] Seeing that annoying, bad snake attack him and not ... GM: Ack. I actually rolled for hit location and it was that darn arm! Honest! So mini IBT for Travel is Zen'da Language/Plains Survival eh? I need to do a file for Mini IBT for travel as well. From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions] Z'leyra hears the horse whine in pain and heads over ... GM: Ack. From Fremea: [Re: Actions] Fremea will bow her pull around quickly and shoot the snake, but aiming for a place that is not near Kell. (she will use regular arrows) GM: Ack. From David: [Re: Wout] Very happy to hear Wout is back. I was afraid something had happened. GM: Ack. I am as well. He may not be back until Kameran but maybe things will settle down bu then for him tot join back. I do allow folks breaks if busy like this so its perfectly fine. From Arawn: [Re: Actions] Janaq 8th 11:40am... Arawn had a sense that the location was a sacred... Combat Actions: Arawn will cast Translocation on the horse to safely move it from the burrow to a place well out of combat range. It should be somewhat behind the group where the party can keep an eye on it and close enough to come to it's aid if there's an immediate need. If he can ID the snake and knows the horse is only paralyzed then he'll focus on the Dae'ta Koti and cast Dispersion at max EL at it. If he's unsure of the snake then he'll focus on the horse and will cast Negate Poison at max EL if it appears to be poisoned in some way. Update: I'm typing up another update to include the Ceremony but won't have it out until Monday evening. As it's basically second nature for Arawn to see mana/the unusual, does he pick up anything of significance during his time in the village? Not trying to use magic to pry as he considers that rude, more just being naturally empathic /psychically sensitive to whatever's around. GM: Ack. ------------------------------------------------------------ [New Stuff] [Janaq 4th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Plains - Ga'felora Tribal area - Cetric's Village] [Time: 11:40 am] The party sits and carouse sharing stories and tall tales like any civilized tavern might have. Arawn sits and stares at the place. It is such a common place but there is something different about the village. Arawn had a sense that the location was a sacred one, though whether out of historical significance or spiritual, or even both, it seemed one to be guarded. A keeper of such things himself he considered it best not to ask. If the spirits saw fit the shaman would share such things with others. And so he sat, his eyes gazing upon village and plain, with half-imagined images dancing in his mind. As Arawn expands his senses not wanting to use magic to investigate he feels something definite. He concentrates even as Kell is telling of the goblin battle recently. He ignores this and closes his mind to all noises Then he feels it like a heart beat. There and there again. A thrumming a subtle tickle on his mind and body. Arawn stands and circles around the village and uses his hands as guides. He begins to smile. Yes, indeed a special place. In the upper world the gods are well aware of places in the middle world that are a higher level of energy. These areas are found by criss crossing lines of energy. The scholars call them lay lines. This place is above one such special area. Arawn stares and wonders if the shaman is aware or is it that his ancestors sensed something unique. Clearly humans who would not study the science would not know. Arawn then realizes this is maybe how Sacred Forests are as well? Maybe one day he'll find more such places. --------- [Janaq 10th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains] [Time: 10:34 am] [Phase 0] Waluf the companion Zen'da begins to yell a battle cry like a yodel. Every few words is understood and sounds like Koti! Koti! Then changes to a series of yodels like mimics. This causes the snake to turn slightly and stare at the Zen'da. [Phase 1] Arawn stares at the horse and snake. He recognizes the snake and realizes the horse is probably just paralyzed not dead. It may be the safest of the entire party now as it is no longer a threat. Fremea hovering in the air pulls her bow and string it. Being at point blank range at only 21 feet away she hits the long snake easily and does 5 points of damage past its tough hide. Kiet quickly dismounts inwardly smiling that at least he isn't the target of this snake. He grabs his shield and javelin then turns to the snake. At only 7 feet away the snake could slither his way so he throws the first javelin toward it. He hits the snake doing 8 points of damage. Arawn moves his horse 10 feet closer toward the snake so he can be in range for magic. Seeing that annoying, bad snake attack him and not Kiet, Kell grabs quickly for his dagger. He won't try for his shield and spear unless there is some way to do it safely without getting bit again. Trying not to think about that poison currently making its way through his veins. Kell tries to not provoke the snake, and moves away. If there is time and the snake delays and doesn't attack again, Kell watches as the snake's head turns toward the Zen'dan warrior. Kell draws his dagger and slowly stands up and backs away. Either the snake's vision is poor in the daytime for it being a night creature or he is focused on the warrior. The snake flicks his tongue out to find a target with the senses it does. The nocturnal creature awakened by the annoying horse is upset. It seems to find that there are only two on the ground the one it just attacked and the new one who just threw something long at it wounding it. It moves quickly toward Kiet. Moving so fast for a large long snake it lunges for Kiet's left leg before the acrobat can bring down his shield. The snake clamps down and bites doing 11 points of damage. Kiet screams in his mind and doesn't out loud as it would show weakness. [Phase 2] Arawn raises a right hand and points it at the snake as he casts a Dispersion spell on it. The energy blast makes the snake's head to release Kiet's leg and begin to vibrate as it dizzy. It hisses and begins to wave it's tail back and forth. Fremea fires again at the back end of the snake's tail but fails to hit. Waluf fires his own bow at the snake and hits but the tough hide makes the arrow bounce off. Kell sees his friend being attacked and had cast a energy spell on the snake but it seems to be way too strong to break away from the web. Kiet grunts and grits his teeth. He then looks down only inches from the snake. He can't throw it now but he can certainly stab it. He stabs the snake's head dead on and kills the snake instantly. Kiet kicks, shield bashes and spears the snake over and over just to ensure its dead. Kell and Kiet then walk over to the grass nest and begin to stab through the grass carefully. Having the longest weapons they are best suited for it. But no other snakes are seen or heard. The group helps lift the paralyzed horse out of the hole and back to standing. Z'leyra dismounts and grabs her gear. She grabs her brass goblet and fills it with water. Then she grabs her bezoar from the satchel and makes a potion each for Kell and Kiet. Z'leyra advises they will both need to recover their physical loss over time. Z'leyra then treats both arm and leg with basic medical aid for now. Meanwhile, Arawn goes over to Kell's horse and casts a negate poison. The horse quickly begins to move again and thanks the druid. Actions? Comments? Next Update...Friday? GM: It is near 11 and I wanted to do more but will try tomorrow. I'll finish up things and probably do the next update Wednesday afternoon with some book keeping things like experience and such. So the next update will probably be out Wednesday afternoon and be considered the Friday update. I will move folks along if I have time in next update to either next update or the river crossing whichever comes first. GM: Kiet - Sorry man just random 50/50 of who the snake attacked and you did dismount :). Kell/Kiet: Want magical healing from whom if so? GM: I was looking around the roll20 site Saturday At the map makers. Interesting stuff. I am not a graphics software person. But I MAY try to get a map for the Kameran things done. No promise but I'll try. For random encounters we'll see. I need to learn the software and this layering stuff first.
