However, as she desires that others have those skills as well she will encourage them to use their skills and spells, perhaps with her assisting in a teaching mode. Re river crossing. "Vow? What vow? I had the intention,... GM: Ack. Yeah. In a perfect world folks would say "First aid then I want to be healed by Arawn." or such. But it delays things when such things aren't said at the start. :< The dialogue you give is to a GM introspection so I'll try to figure out a way to get it to make sense. ------------------------------------------------------------ [New Stuff] [Janaq 10th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains] [Time: 10:55 am] Arawn watches Kiet and Kell drink the potion made by Z'leyra. The Druid studies the two men and their aura. He realizes that there is a slight change that likely means the poison is cured. But not the affect effects. Arawn then remembers one of his teachers talking about the Koti poison. An actual negate poison spell will not only cure the poison but also the after effects. But the Alfar sits back and hope this was not a Koti elite or his level in that spell will do nothing. The Alfar explains the situation that the poison may be gone but not the effects. Z'leyra may have done a good job but now he needs to do more. He calls Kiet forward and casts the spell to help prevent it. The spell goes off well and Arawn studies the tan aura that seems to ebb from Kiet. It slowly begins to fade. Kiet almost immediately becomes stronger and Arawn realizes the spell must've worked. So the Koti was a simple one, thank the gods! Arawn calls Kell over and does the same thing. After a few minutes the trader also seems cured from the lingering effects of the poison. Z'leyra then treats Kiet's with first aid. Then Kiet requests healing. But she explains it would be too risky. She can do it in the morning. ------------- [Janaq 11th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains] [Sunrise] Z'leyra checks Kiet's wound and then casts a healing spell on his leg after getting into the shamanic trance. The green magical healing energy closes the wound up completely and heals it fully. Z'leyra inspects Kell's wound but his arm seems to have naturally healed back. So looks like both men are in good shape. ------- [Janaq 15th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains - River Sich edge] [Late afternoon] Lucria notices Z'leyra's frustration on the attempts to cross the river and comments about it. Re river crossing. "Vow? What vow? I had the intention, but I certainly didn't make a vow to cross the river this day." Z'leyra thinks to herself. "Besides it would be better to camp overnight then cross in the morning when it is light. Even if the river is too deep for the horses to walk across they can certainly swim if the riders are floating besides them. We should start upriver of the pace to get out as the current will pull us down river if we end up swimming." ------------- [Janaq 15th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains - River Sich edge] [Sunrise] Fremea obtains a long tree branch and tests the depth of the water. IT is still shoulder height for a horse. But Kell smiles and explains he has a way. He draws out a dagger he made from his pack. He approaches the river bank and tells folks be ready. He tells everyone to dismount. He asks those who speak horse to tell the horses they will need to cross on their own. They will soon see a way. But they must hurry as it is a short duration. Kell raises the dagger and says "Cross it" in Marentian. The earth begins to tremble. Feet from Kell begins to shatter and break up. Earth begins to spout upwards and arcs over the river. It is at least 5 feet above the river and slowly moving 6-7 feet every second. It takes 15 seconds and the earth bridge impacts on the other side of the river. But Kell frowns that took too long to form and could be a problem. Even before it completes forming he yells for the first horse to move fast. The Fay horse of Arawn's runs fast and has to slow down to allow the bridge to complete. Kell had hopes to spread the horses out but there is no time. The width of the bridge is only about 6 feet. Kell urges his own horse forward. Then Kiet's horse. But then Kell curses as the bridge shakes and begins to break apart. He tells the other 2 horses to wait. Kell paces back and forth as the bridge collapses and only lasts about 15 or 16 seconds. He will have to improve his skill greater. It is great for short distances but at 100 feet this bridge is inefficient. Kell doesn't give up though he raises the dagger and casts it again. Kell urges Z'leyra's, Pyan's and Fuk's horse to cross. For the last two there is hesitation but Fremea flies over and helps to make them more comfortable. The last horse of Lucria's watches as the bridge collapses again. Just too far for a short duration. Kell then turns to Z'leyra to use the dagger she gave her. Z'leyra digs for the dagger from her belt she removed before her horse crossed. Now it just leaves Lucria's horse and the people. Kell calculates it would take at least 10 seconds for a person to cross. That's about 5 seconds to spare. But the people can swim at least. At least he hopes they all can. Kell tells Arawn, Kiet and Pyan to be ready to run over the bridge. But the horse will have to lead the way to ensure it is safer. Kell nods for Z'leyra to activate her dagger. She also tells the dagger "Cross it". The bridge re-forms quickly. The horse runs forward and the other 3 follow soon behind. Pyan looks the most worried about this strange magical bridge. But Kiet grins at the might of magic and his friend's new toys. Soon the trio cross the bridge and watch as it collapses. Kell then looks to the last who is Fuk, himself and Z'leyra. This time Fremea sits on a tree watching the action. Z'leyra uses the magical dagger once more and it casts the earth bridge spell. They notice a small turtle drop from the bridge that the spell must've picked up. It falls into the water and hope its good. But all three run and cross the bridge as fast as they can. The party stands and watches the bridge collapse. A very useful spell. Behind them the horses mingle and try to eat some grass, but Arawn's horse seems tall and regal looking around as if nervous. Unlike the greater plains the river bank does have a collection of trees and bushes. Fremea is sitting facing the rising sun in the east watching. She is about 8 feet high in a small but unravaged by winter tree. Fremea is fascinated but she does not sense the danger. Suddenly she hears a noise from below and to the right but before she looks down she hears a hissing sound and looks up to see a Dirasa diving right for her. The flying snake is only 10 inches but it is moving fast. Fremea draws her dagger but a glint of metal is seen from the below and she sees a flying axe! The axe spins like a drunk banshee and hits the snack squarely cutting it in half! The pieces fall into the lap of Fremea and she sees one piece fall to the ground below. The axe continues onward and lands 3 feet behind Kiet who jumps startled. The horses move away as if they could've been a target as well for the axe. Fremea stands on the branch and looks down to see a small man with a beard that hangs to his belly. No wait. Fremea sees him as a dwarf. He is wearing a red leather suit? Really? Red? Fremea starts to yell but then hears a noise in the west. She glances up and on the plains a mile away is a lone rider moving east very fast. She squints but can't seem to make the person out. Then Corona yells a warning, "Griffins approaching! East! The party turns to the sky in the east which is hard to see due to the rising sun. But in the bright light there seems to be indeed two griffins flying toward the group. But more likely toward the horses which are now without riders. The party estimates the griffins are at 200-210 feet away and 300 odd feet off ground. They could be here within 10 seconds or so. Actions? Comments? Next Update..Monday?? GM: I was waiting for Mark to reply but I figured I'd do him as he intended and do the above I hope I didn't mess up his surprise. But we move on. I also was waiting for him to reply on healing but he was lightly wounded so natural healing did fine. So this update has 3 surprises :). A Dwarf. A mysterious rider. And the griffins who see juicy sexy horses to attack. Keep in mind gear will be on horses unless you "wear it". I figure would not Wear it crossing the river so not to lose I in case one falls in. So things in sheath or such is fine. I will do the next update this Saturday. Since this is out later it would be too hard to react for a Friday update. Sorry but I figure this is better than nothing. Wout says it will be at least 3 more weeks for the list/website. So continue to send email to me. You can reply to ALL and such if need to send to all.
