Beware the Griffins!" Z'leyra shouts as she readies herself for battle. She asks her horse to accept a spell to make it faster and tells her horse to intercept a griffon when it dives towards one of the horses. She casts EL2 Bal Speed on her horse thru her staff then casts Fire Darts (from firestone) at the most threatening/ leading griffon if they dive towards the horses or party. GM: Ack. You got to remember time for speaking. Since didn't say exactly what you ask horse I'll have to estimate that time for a phase or two. This is at least 4 or more phases of actions. Why combat can be slowed for speaking. :) You do realize horse is not a warhorse so intercept may be a bit lacking. :) ------------------------------------------------------------ [New Stuff] [Janaq 15th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Eastern Plains - River Sich edge] [Time: 7:14:00 am] [Phase 1] The two griffins fly fast westward seemingly silent. They make it 80 feet or so closer. This means they are about 10 feet from hitting the riverbank on the other side of the river. While only a few know Eagle talk when they see Z'leyra and Arawn turn suddenly this causes others to look back to the east. The rising sun is blinding and it takes few seconds to pin point the attackers. Corona finishes his warning and dives toward the party flying fast toward the west over their heads. Fremea turns to the east hearing Corona. She may not understand the bird completely. Something about an attack and to the east. But she doesn't understand the word Griffin. She leaves the tree and hovers in the air watching the sky to the east. Arawn squints and places a hand over his eyes to block the blinding sun and sees the creatures moving fast. "East of us! Beware the Griffins!" Z'leyra shouts as she readies herself for battle. Now everyone who isn't aware turns to face the east. Fuk draws his sword and moves his feet apart ready for battle but it seems the man doesn't understand the danger to his horse. Lucria as well seems to not understand what griffins are and pulls his whip. He figures he could lash a few of them. Kiet quickly moves to his horse and grabs his javelin. As he does he glances at the short man in the beard wondering who this guy is. Does he mean harm? Moments earlier the Dwarf does a fist pump and says something in his language. Some may understand him but he is behind the bushes and only Fremea initially saw and hears him as he moves through the bushes to get his axe. HE grunts something else at Fremea and she figures it is a greeting. Now as Z'leyra warns the party the dwarf emerges from the bushes and notices the horses and party. He only seems to hesitate a second then moves to get his axe. The dwarf seems confused by why they are now staring east. He didn't hear the warning or maybe didn't understand it. Shrugging he looks up and tries to see what is going on. [Time: 7:14:03 am] [Phase 2] The Griffins move fast another 80 feet closer crossing over the river. They both end up about 40 feet away from the party and about 30 feet off the ground. From above Corona dives at one and fires his magical eyes but it splashes into the river missing. Kiet looks up and notices now the rider in the west. There is something familiar about the rider. A quick glint of red? It is a female since her hair is flying wildly in the wind. But Kiet only takes a half second look then turns around. He is suddenly surprised to see the griffins only 40-50 feet away. Kiet activates the first javelin's magic. He considers throw it now but if he did there is a great chance it would be swept into the river and possibly lost. He decides to wait and try when they are on this side of the river. Z'leyra yells to her horse to ask if he accepts a spell to help him. As she does she activates her helmet and tries to aim it at the griffin nearest. But nothing seems to come out. [Time: 7:14:06 am] [Phase 3] Actions? Comments? Next Update..Friday?? GM: A short update yes. But I only will do 2 phases for now. I only had actions from Kiet/Z'leyra. So I will see what others do. The griffins will be on the horses or party definitely next phase. I was surprised to see Z's post on the list So I will TRY it as well. But we may not be able to depend on it for another week or two. So you can post to the list and if you have it set up to send your own post and it comes to it then fine. I should get it. The Archives are still down. If I see it will try to add it to my site asap. If you want you can just email me directly as I stated before to ensure it comes to me. Actions will be public/posted on my site unless stated otherwise. I hope to do 2 more phases for Friday. If I get enough actions I can start on it Wednesday. If not it will be more difficult Thursday to do much. So it may have to be posted Friday night unless get actions before then. GM: I have scheduled my vacations now for Sept-Dec. I have most Thursday's off (except 3 or so) from Sept=Dec. This means I can work on Friday updates then. Which is great. So will help with 2 updates/a week. This starts on 9/1.
