GM: Ack. ------------------------------------------------------------ [New Stuff] [Janaq 15-18th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Central Plains] Z'leyra enjoys the time she can spend flying with Corona. She has been too limited in the times that she could do that. A bit of play, some acrobatics and diving practice and a lot of scanning around and ahead of the party. Z'leyra tries to find out why Corona has been missing at random times of the day or not. But the eagle though close to Z'leyra remains quiet and aloof on the matter. But the shaman does know something is up with the bird. Each evening she rejoins the party, redresses herself and studies Healing Mist. She uses her Watchful Sleep brooch at night. In the morning back to flying. While dinner or breakfast is being served she asks Dorhak questions. "How long were you in the Kameran?" "What news from the Kameran?" "Why did you leave the Kameran?' "Will you get in trouble for going back?" "Are you a skilled metal worker? Runemaster?" "While I understand that Kameri smiths make excellent weapons, no one that I know of has a better reputation for iron based metal goods than the dwarves. What could dwarves learn from the Kameri about working iron?" As Z'leyra asks these questions over the next 3 days Fuk and Lucria are also very interested in these answers. ------- [Janaq 18th, 1635TH] [Zen'da Central Plains] [Time: 4:49 am] Kiet is happy enough to have his back to the fire. It's cold out, and after that gods awful hailstorm he was having trouble thawing out. He didn't understand how Fuk could be so far from the heat. Obviously a heartier fellow than little ol' Kiet! Kiet is looking up at the stars and wondering if that means it will be really cold again. Way too cold already. Kiet wondered if there was some magic that could make this not so uncomfortable. It might be time to delve into a summoning soon and see if maybe a Sylph can help with such things. Finally the sound Kiet hears reaches his conscious mind. He listens closer and can't really identify the source or what it portends. He stands up, only to see some dogs sniffing around. This time of night? He remembered just then that over there was the area where Fuk dumped some rancid bacon and such. Kiet looks closer and doesn't really believe what he sees. They're yellow! He doesn't like the feel of this, but they are simply scavenging, so he doesn't burn them down immediately. He does ready his weapons, keeping his javelins in his left hand with shield, and draws his Tulwar. Better safe than sorry! Also, look around to see if any more are around, and sound alarm immediately if there are. Kiet notices the darkness does not fade into daylight style vision but shrinks away. So while the edges of the shadows are maybe 50 feet around the campfire, Kiet's new eyes can see maybe 75-80 feet further out. Beyond that he can see shapes and objects more clear but not in great detail. The spell may not be a perfect night vision but even Elves are not 100% night watchers as well. They are also limited by distance. Kiet begins a slow circle from the dogs in the north to left going counter clock wise. When Kiet gets to the top right in the north east he sees Fuk moving toward the area of the dogs. The man is walking with purpose on his patrol. Then a half second later Kiet notices a third dog slightly to the north east of Fuk moving toward him. After spell and weaponing up, call out to Fuk "Be on guard, Fuk!", but try to do it so as not to disturb the pups. Fuk glances back to Kiet and slows down. then he notices the 2 yellow dogs moving through discarded food in the hole the party dug. Kiet raises his tulwar to point to the 3rd dog to warn Fuk but the dog charges before he can yell. Inside the tents Z'leyra, Arawn and Unali all soon awake after sensing danger. Fuk turns just a half second when he hears the 3rd dog charging him. The dog leaps toward his chest and bounces off as if hit by a wall. Fuk looks down at the yellow dog but only sees in the darkness a very sickly yellow hue. He draws his sword as the dog recovers from the leap. Kiet yells out to Fuk to warn him and yells in general a warning. Then Kiet turns to the other 2 dogs and notice they are now charging! Now that they are better in the view of the campfire he sees they are of average medium size dogs about the height of a human knee. Maybe 50-75 pounds. The dogs are now within the party camp and are about 10 feet from Kiet. [Turn 1: Phase 3] Actions? Comments? Next Update..Monday??? GM: A short update for now but it will do for a quick combat. I am off Saturday so if I get enough posts I COULD try to do a update then. If not then I will do it Monday. Happy Equinox!
