GM: Ack. Folks as you can see Don has a inner voice. HE uses formatting (bold, italic I'm told) in the emails to denote which is which. But here in the update no such formatting. But you can tell "text" is speaking out loud and 'text' is inner voice. So that may help you guys The inner voice is not heard so nothing is learned from it. I'm not sure what you mean by Bane its not like its a Rowan tree. ------------------------------------------------------------ [New Stuff] [Febris 4th, 1635TH] [Kameran Lands - Forest South of Kameran capital] [Time: 4:15 am] The group after the mist heals the wounded examine the flying beasts and the dog-thing corpses. It seems that Z'leyra knows what the flying beasts are but has not spoken up on them yet to answer those questions. Lucria helps Mae up from healing and supports her as she looks at the others. A sign of concern over her face as the others ask about the summoned beast. Maelorna looks over at first at Dorhak then Kiet, "That dog was something I.. I thought might help, considering all I'm able to summon is creatures with the inclination for destruction It was rather irate with me, as it was hunting with it's pack when I pulled it here." as the voice laughs, 'Oh you don't know the half of it dear, I dare you to summon it again, go on, please? For me?' "As for the paralysis, it's new to me, she, rather, I" she corrects herself, as inside she can hear the burst of insane laughter at her expense, "didn't.. didn't realize the howl would effect everyone, it's howl was intended for those things we were fighting only. What I know of them, is rather limited, other than their victims will be held firm for more than seven turns of a glass." 'Or enough time for their victims to enjoy their last moments of life as the hounds start to feast upon their flesh.' the voice purrs teasingly, 'you really need to learn when to trust me dear, but no matter, it did help did it not? You might want to point that out if needed.' Maelorna can almost physically hear the giggle. "I was only trying to help, as my crossbow is not at effective as what I can summon. If it hadn't been for the spell of pleasure the creature hit me with, I would have kept track of the time needed to banish the dog." She offers as she heads over to where directed for healing, unless stopped. 'He's handsome, perhaps you should let me get to know him better. I'm sure he would come about to see your way of things.' it teases. Kell and Kiet hear the red head speak and know first hand the issue of summoning things. But they both know the dog did help as it helped take one down. Fremea and others examine the burning tree. The tree itself continues to smolder for almost a full hour before embers start to fade. For those who can see in the dark the black tree is tall and daunting. For those who do not they bring over a torch from the campfire Those few leaves that survive are dark black as is the bark of the tree. The tree itself is maybe 5 feet in diameter. While the fire destroyed most of the bark and some of the interior the tree remains standing for the most part. Only a 3rd of the top fell to the ground. The rest would need to be cut down. Fuk crosses his arms, "I hope that thing is dead. Should we burn it more or cut it down to protect others?" ---------- [Time: 6:25 am] [Sunrise] After Z'leyra does a new healing spell on Pyan the hunter begins to rouse up. Pyan says as he awakens, "Did I fall sleep on sentry duty?" He then realizes his wounds, "What happened?" Fuk nods over the hunter, "yes! Fell asleep on duty and missed the fun!" Then he becomes more serious. "Let's just say a tree found you interesting. We'll explain as we go on." Z'leyra ensures her gear is on the horses. While they will be walking - to help those who have no horses - the gear can still be on the horses. Z'leyra comments, "There is why we travel together in a group. Alone, any of us may well have died when confronted with that threat. Together we triumphed. Further we have different strengths that help the group as a whole in more situations than any one individual could do on their own." While the group eats a light breakfast. Kiet looks up and examines Maelorna with a purely calculating expression, and just quietly says, mostly to himself, "Hmmmm... I wonder...?" After a quick breakfast Z'leyra says, "all right let's go." The group heads north through the thick forest guiding the horses on foot around hallows and obstacles. [Time:11:30 am] The group emerges from the forest into rolling hills that continue north as far as group can see. [Time: 12:06 pm] As the party walks, the skies above the canopy is partly cloudy all day with temperatures going from 38 to 58 degrees. Corona reports that he has spotted 3 Great Apes to the west. Using this information the party avoids stopping for lunch and moves north fast away from the apes to avoid any conflicts. [Time: 1:41 pm] It begins to rain moderately with a very cold steady beast for about 20 minutes. Some use the tarps and horse pavilion to take quick shelter. But the group still remains cold and wet. [Time: 5:58 pm] The group finds a tall hill and makes camp. After 11 miles of hard walking. The party gets into a routine to gather wood, setup tents, tend to horses and other duties. ---------- [Febris 5th, 1635TH] [Kameran Lands - Hills South of Kameran capital] The party heads north through the hills. The clouds roll in but it warms up to 60-66 degrees. At least there is no weather affecting the party that day. ---------- [Febris 6th, 1635TH] [Kameran Lands - Hills South of Kameran capital] This day the clouds roll in thick and the temperatures plunge from 1 below to 31 degrees. It makes the ten miles walking in the hills difficult. [Time 8:02 am] Worst is though a very intense cold rain starts. It lasts for 46 minutes. But at least it is not snow. After the rain Z'leyra has to ensure frost bite is not affecting any of the party. There are some close calls but so far so good. ---------- [Febris 7th, 1635TH] [Kameran Lands - Hills South of Kameran capital] Aside from a small cloud blot it is mostly bright and clear today. The temperatures in the hills here go from 19 to 45 degrees. [Time: 4:09 pm] The party has made it 9 miles today. There is no large forests in the area but there are light woods. The underbrush and foliage allows for cover for a large party moving through possibly hostile Kameran lands. Corona is off hunting away so is not able to give good aerial recon. Fremea is flying above but is also on the lookout for interesting plants. This is when the party encounters others. The sun is to the north west around 7 o'clock position just above the horizon. Behind the party is another set of 2 hills about half a mile away. To the right the next hill over is 1.5 miles away. To the left they are right up against a tall hill mostly cluttered with boulders that is about 30 feet above the party. But in front 300 feet or so away the next hill rises about 70 feet up a 30 foot angle. Fremea is the first to notice a wolf to the north. Then Fuk notices one to the right. Then Kiet looking behind notices two wolves behind them. Then Z'leyra notices 2 small wolves on the hill overlooking the party to the left. Wolves is not a big deal for this party. But they must be desperate to attack. But they have not yet. The party can form a defensive circle in plenty of time. Then Mae spots up the hill to the north 4 large wolves emerge from the underbrush some 280 feet or so away. Then a very large gray and white wolf that looks to be 3 times the normal size of a wolf emerges in the center of those 4. Fremea sees it first but before she can yell a female exits from the underbrush and stands besides the very large wolf. The female is wearing heavy furs and leathers. She stands over 6 feet and around 160 pounds. She does not seem to have any weapons. Suddenly behind her emerge 4 men. All wearing heavy leathers, looks like scale mail, metal helmets, a couple have banded shields. All four seem to have heavy axes on their back. A couple are carrying heavy swords. The female yells in Kameran, "who enters our land in such a large force that can only be considered an invasion force. State your intentions or be prepared to depart away from our lands!" The party discreetly looks around and wonders if there are others out there watching from the cover of the rocks and underbrush. Actions? Comments? Next Update..Monday... GM: A good place to stop. Will do next update Monday if get enough posts. Things will move a bit slower now. But I got the party 3 days down the line. The mana report is fully updated and everything is accurate. Language info updated below. Not many will be able to understand Kameri so Z'leyra will have to translate widely for group. Over the 3 days Mournath healed one energy back. But Pyan naturally healed completely. Mana report is not accurate for Arawn. I need to work on that later. This assumes over these 3 days no magic is cast. I went ahead and sent this out technically Thursday. Since not much to post on at this point. If things need to be done it can be done retroactively. Update #100 a nice number for entering Kameran.
