* PBEM Damage Status When a character is damaged I may list how many points that person takes in the update for tracking purposes. At times I may not. But in the end a report will show usually the level of damage. That can be determined using this system. Damage Level Percentage of Damage None 0 % Light 1-25% Moderate 26-49% Heavy 50-95% Critical 96-97% Fatal [Near] 99-100% Example: A fighter has 50 hit points (for ease of math). He takes in first phase 4 points. His damage level goes from None (0%) to (100/50=2 per) 8% down or Light damage (92% full health, 4x2\8%). Second phase he gets a 18 point severe hit now for a total of 22 points of damage. His level goes from light to Moderate - 44%. * Hit Location Here is a quick reference chart I MAY use at times. This is an example of one setup I MAY use but could vary from situation to situation. D12 - Ranges - Location Roll Head 1 Neck 2 Shoulder 3-4 Chest 5-8 Left Arm 9 Right Arm 10 Left Leg 11 Right Leg 12 D12 - Melee - Location Roll Head 1 Neck 2 Shoulder 3-4 Chest 5-10 Left Arm 11 Right Arm 12 * Body cutting Ever curious how I might figure out if a limb is cut off? Well this isn't the exact chart I use but based on it. It uses a system of divided hit points for body part and then level of damage. It tends to be subjective. But here is an example. Vlad has 24 hit points. I determine since human has 7 body locations. Location Hit Points (if divided) Head 2 Neck 2 Shoulder 2 Chest 10 Left Arm 4 Right Arm 4 So if a left arm is hit for 1 point it won't do any thing but a cut. If 8 then that's x2 and could very well. Some cases I could use a system like problem solving to figure out the chance in multiple (x2, x2, x4). So a 14 point hit to a left arm is likely to cut it off. This tends to be subjective but in principle how I do it. * Item Damage ECurious on how I might determine item damage? Using same general system as body cutting above. Let's say body location is Left arm. A person has a gauntlet, bracelet, upper arm jewelry (twist or something) and finger rings. So that is 4 items. Left arm consists of Hand, Lower and Upper Arm sections. I could even do it Fingers as well. I could then do a D3 or D4 to determine teh spot. So I roll 2 and turns out to be lower arm (between hand and elbow). That leaves bracelet and gauntlet. Three locations in general. A D3 again could determine if arm, gauntlet or bracelet. Though in some cases a gauntlet might tkae larger portion. So D4 (1-bracelet, 2-arm itself, 3-4 gauntlet). For location. Then based on damage the item would take normal FV or DR damage for breakage. It is a bit subjective but it works. :)
